Aspects of the execution of prison sentences in the Slovak and Italian Republic

Abstract

Imprisonment is generally the harshest penalty that can be imposed on an individual. However, the fulfilment of all the functions and purposes of punishment must always be consistent with fundamental human rights and freedoms. This paper provides the readers with an insight into the peculiarities of the conditions of execution of punishment in the conditions of the Slovak Republic and the Italian Republic.
