Abstract

The Constitution of the Slovak Republic in Art. 26(4) regulates the possibilities, limits and conditions for limiting the right to information, while the legitimate aim of the restriction is also the security of the state and public order. The Constitutional Law on State Security allows for further restrictions on the right to information in times of war, state of war, exceptional state and state of emergency. The contribution addresses these restrictions in order to demonstrate that in crisis situations the right to information should be exercised as widely as possible, namely by public authorities. This would also reduce the spread and impact of disinformation on society.
