Collective management of the rights of the omitted authors

Abstract

Collective management of rights is an essential part of copyright law in the Slovak Republic, and it is carried out by collecting management organisations. However, none of the collective management organisations in Slovakia represents authors of audiovisual works, who are cameramen, costume designers, editors, film architects (set designers) and sound masters. In this paper, we will address the absence of collective management of the rights of these artists, the question of their authorship, as well as their efforts to properly exercise copyright in the Slovak Republic.
