Prison system and performance of custody and imprisonment in RussianFederation

Abstract

The criminal law of the Russian Federation, although it is similar in several aspects to Slovakia (due to international standards but also historical context), some specific differences can be observed especially in its system, as well as in the execution of custody and imprisonment, especially in about the facilities in which the repressive measures are carried out. The aim of the article is to bring the reader closer to criminal law and the execution of custody and imprisonment in the Russian Federation, emphasizing the historical similarity with the execution of criminal sanctions in the Soviet Union and there forms the Russian prison system has undergone, as well as criticism of the international human rights community.
