The rise and fall of the Islamic State

Abstract

Islamic State is a brutal terrorist organisation operating not only in the Middle East area, but around the world. During its peak years between 2014 and 2015 the group ruled and rather effectively controlled over six million people, however its teritorries have nearly dimished now due to coalition strikes. Regardless of this fact, its effective online propaganda still helps them recruit and inspire new members. They also use the internet to publish materials and videos which serve as a basis for terror attacks committed around the world.
