The Right to Housing in the Legal Regulations of the Slovak Republic

Abstract

The article focuses on the constitutional and legislative foundations, maps the international legal obligations of the Slovak Republic, and highlights selected issues: the shortage of affordable housing (especially rental housing), the fragmentation of state and municipal competencies, and the risk of exclusion of marginalized groups. Finally, it provides “pro futuro” recommendations — legislative, political, and administrative measures aimed at better implementation and protection of the right to adequate housing.
