The vicissitudes of the shortening of the election period of the National Council of the Slovak Republic

Abstract

The contribution is devoted to the amendment of the Constitution of the Slovak Republic from 2023, which supplemented the constitutional rules for the adoption of a decision to shorten the current election period of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. The paper points out the current constitutional practice in the Slovak Republic and the referendum that was held on the same issue in 2023 and evaluates mentioned constitutional changes in their context.
