Abstract
The article approximates consumer protection in Slovak law. Attention is paid mainly to the provisions of the legislation governing consumer contracts. We focus on the definition of the term consumer, we also rely on the Directives of the European Parliament and the Council and jurisprudence. In separate parts of the article, we pay attention to the details of consumer contracts, the definition of unacceptable/unfair terms and the issue of arbitration clauses. We conclude the article with the issue of interpretation of consumer contracts in case of doubt.
